Plant Nursery

Grow Local, Grow Native:
Regenerative Agriculture

From tree service to creating native and edible Florida landscapes...

Omega Tree & Nursery is now expanding our dedication as environmentally responsible tree-care professionals by launching a regenerative way of farming our plant nursery and food gardens.

Our goals are to:

1. Encourage the use of Florida native plants that sustain our ecosystem

2. Expand pollinator habitats and biodiversity.

3. Support growing your own food through regenerative agriculture.

4. Teach homeowners best practices for creating environmentally responsible landscaping requiring less water and care.

We are passionate about trees, people, and the communities we serve. With every tree take down or pruning, we give back by chipping and recycling the tree. We let the wood chips break down into organic compost and use it to grow our plants and food for a sustainable future.

Bringing Native Florida
Back to the Community

Why Native Plants Matter:

  • Key to Florida's unique biodiversity.

  • Coexist with Florida wildlife, providing food and shelter.

  • Use less water and care due to being naturally adapted to the environment.

  • It is important to note that most flowering plants, including most food crops, require pollinators to reproduce!

Native Plants:

  • Require less maintenance to thrive in our soils and climate with little to no need for fertilizers and watering.

  • More resistant to pests and diseases as they attract beneficial insects and deter harmful pests.

  • Provide needed nectar and habitat to support pollinators such as bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects.

  • Improve pollination, pest resistance, and low maintenance, resulting in better health of plants and higher yields of fruit and vegetable gardens.

Regenerative Farm

Woodland Farms is working to create a model where native plant landscaping is coupled with sustainable food production accomplished through regenerative agriculture.

We try to utilize every part of the trees we trim or take down. What would be waste is instead saved and cut into functional wood, used as feed our livestock, processed as mulch for compost, or burned for biochar to enrich our soils.

Incorporating edible native plants into Florida yards provides food for humans and wildlife. Florida outdoor spaces thrive when pollinator gardens provide native and noninvasive flowers to attract and support pollinators.

At Woodland, we host educational workshops to help homeowners implement practices that are sustainable and attainable at all levels.
